Teens N' Trails
Are you interested in young people becoming more active on trails?
Are you interested in organizing trail events for young people?
Are you a young person who would like to become involved in organizing trail events for other you?
WE CAN HELP YOU!
We are a team of outdoor educators who are offering a workshop to interested people of any age to train them how to organize and run trail events that are specifically geared for youth.

OUR GOALS
- Raise the numbers of youth currently using trails in their community.
- Improve the health and fitness level of youth.
- Give youth skills that will enable them to contribute to their community.

ABOUT TNT
The Eastern Ontario Trails Alliance did research that showed that youth (ages 12-18) was one of the groups that used local trails the least. A grant was secured form the Ministry of Health to formulate a strategy that would increase the number of youth using trails leading to the consequent improvement of their health and fitness.
Celebration of Trails was given the project and they proceeded to develop the plan of doing workshops in the various counties with the intention that youth who learned how to run trail events would plan events that were appealing to other youth. Celebration of Trails engaged Teens' N' Trails to do this.

WHAT WE DO
We are approaching various stakeholders in counties within the Celebration of Trails organization, to look for people who are interested in finding ways to get youth more involved in trail activities.
We are organizing a workshop for interested people within each of these counties. We plan to do at least 10 workshops by the end of August 2008.
The workshop is an entertaining three hours where participants will be engaged in discussion regarding possible trail events that would appeal to youth, become familiar with local trails, existing events and learn how to plan and run trail events. Participants will also receive a package that contains all the relevant information from the workshop. All of this is free of charge.

FOR STUDENTS
What would it take to get you out on a trail? You never know where a trail will lead, to a cliff, a waterfall, a ravine, or a peaceful wetland. Trails can become a race, a survivor locale, a geocaching event or a place to see things you've never seen before.
We are looking for people who have what it takes, to create trail events for others, to run trail events that are exciting and challenging.
If you are that person and you want to get involved, come to a workshop in your community. For more information on a workshop in your community e-mail dfc44@sympatico.ca or call (705) 754-0114.

FOR ADULTS
Are you interested in helping youth get involved in using your local trails more often?
Do you want to see youth become more active and healthier?
Then contact us to arrange for a workshop in you community. We teach how to created and run trail events that appeal to young people. We think trails can be a source of fun and enjoyment for teens as well as being a great way to be active.
